Leisa Littlefield. dance instructor
Miss Leisa has over 40 years of teaching experience in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acrobatics and gymnastics. She began her dance training when she was just 3 years old in Deacatur, Ga with the Werner Studios of the Performing Arts. While studying under Dolores Werner, she began teaching dance classes at the age of 15 and fell in love with teaching her students to love the arts as much as she did. While teaching, she also competed at all levels in both dance and gymnastics winning local, statewide and national titles. Performing was a highlight of hers as well, and traveled to show her love of dance across the US, performing at venues including The Fabulous Fox Theatre, Atlanta Opera theatre, Six Flags, and Disney World. She also performed in musicals both live and on screen and their music videos with artists including Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora.
After deciding that her love of teaching overtook her love of performing, she focused on bettering herself with classes. She studied through Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America, as well as from well renowned artist such as Al Gilbert, Joe Tremaine, Rhee Gold, even some master classes with Len Goodman. As a teacher, she has won titles in choreography, most entertaining, and best all around. Some of her students have gone on to become professional dancers, dance teachers and studio owners themselves.
Leisa and her two daughters, Hannah and Lydia have all loved being part of the CDA family for 15 years.
When not teaching dance, Leisa enjoys spending time with her husband of 36 years and her family, hiking the north Ga mountains and working with children and teens in different local and church ministries. She is an American Sign Language interpreter and loves incorporating ASL into her choreography. Leisa is a native of Georgia and moved to the Cumming area where she still resides with her husband and daughter, Lydia.
