CDA offers two different competitive hip hop groups!
SWERVE Effects Jr. Level:
Dancers grades 5th - 8th are eligible.
SWERVE Effects Sr. Level:
Dancers grades 9th - 12th are eligible.

SWERVE Effects Hip Hop CREW (Jr. and Sr. Levels) are CDA’s competitive Hip Hop teams. These Crews compete at three to four competitions every season, attend one to two hip hop conventions, and attend a National competition every other year.
This summer our Crew dancers also have the opportunity to attend our NYC Dance Experience and train at top studios in NYC.
In addition to our competition schedule, SWERVE performs at several different professional sporting events, which have included the Atlanta Hawks, Georgia Swarm and more.
Eligible dancers are entering 5th-12th grade and are required to take weekly Hip Hop and Jazz and/or Acro technique class (competitive dancers are encouraged to take both Acro and Jazz) in addition to their weekly Swerve Effects rehearsal.
Auditions for the following season are held near the end of the school year in the spring.
