Madison Russell

is a graduate from Auburn University. Since she was three-years-old, she has had an undeniable passion for dance. Madison started her training at Exclusively Ballet and Dance in Birmingham, Alabama. There she was educated in many styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap and hip hop. Madison has had the honor of holding roles such as Cinderella (Cinderella), Glenda (The Wizard of Oz), Michael (Peter Pan), and Paquita (Paquita). Madison was also a part of EBD’s performing company for four years. She competed in a variety of competitions around Alabama – earning platinum, gold and silver medals for her solo and group performances. Alongside taking classes at EBD Madison also began assisting then teaching dance to girls ages 3-18. During that time is when Madison found her love not only for dance but for teaching young girls the art of dance and creative movement.

While at Auburn, Madison earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and Human Development and Family Studies while also earning a minor in Dance. As a member of Auburn’s dance minor program, she took classes that grew and expanded her knowledge of both dance history and creative movement. She performed in many dance outcomes and performances at Auburn’s Telfair Peet Theatre, including her favorite senior performance Dancing Community: Cultivating Our Roots. Madison was also a part of her social sorority’s Greek Sing performances, where she helped direct and choreograph their forty member dance pieces in the annual competition fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.

During her time in Auburn, Madison continued her love for teaching at Variations Dance Studio where she taught girls ages 3-15 ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, and broadway. She has loved building relationships with the students over the years and enhancing her experience as a dance educator in Auburn, but she is more eager to follow her calling to Cumming, Georgia where she has the amazing opportunity to walk alongside students as they fulfill their dance related dreams.

Madison is very excited to continue her passion for dance and teaching students while creating an environment that honors God in the way we work and relate to one another here at Cumming Dance Academy!
